We’ve spent the weekend unloading and reloading the boat — a long, slow process, but it’s been nice to learn a) what went where, b) how much Exit can actually hold, and c) we didn’t overpack. The amount of stuff we brought from home is like a rounding error.

Our things are stored in the boat yard’s rigging shed at the moment. Soren took a time lapse video of us sorting and loading up carts:

Late in the afternoon we paused the operation and drove south for an hour to meet a woman selling her inflatable stand-up paddle board on Craigslist.  We stopped for dinner at Cameron’s Lobster House, a drive-in diner that Drew enjoyed on an earlier trip:

All the neon signs and lit-up restaurants looked really pretty today — it’s in the mid-60s, with misty skies and drizzle. When we entered the diner our waitress immediately asked me where we were from. “Oh, California! Welcome to Maine!” she exclaimed. Then in a whisper: “I can tell you’re not from here. You’re wearing jackets.”
